Member-led workshop by Marianne Fyda

The Basics and Beyond
or How I learned to love Still Life*

Part 1

The workshop will  build basic drawing skills, with demos, hints and good examples:
We will deal with the most common problems  we all have with shapes, negative space,  ellipses, symmetry, perspective, foreshortening, value, volume, light and shadow.
We will begin with a simple  illuminated still life and find out just how much it can teach us, from set up to finish.

Part 2- Afternoon

The Pastel Rescue Project
Bring some pastels projects that are giving you problems and together we will look for solutions. You will learn the easiest ways to save or improve a painting, we will deal with composition, correction, moving or removing areas, cropping, etc.
